Horizon Worlds

Building employee experiences on Meta’s social VR platform

Focus: Producer

Advisory: Designer

I directed the launch of our first VR experiences on Meta's Horizon Worlds, and oversee the offfering at Accenture. Similar to the Gaming and WebAR programs, I’m in charge of building the teams, crafting the upskilling curriculum, and cultivating essential ecosystem and vendor relationships.

Additionally, from an offering perspective, I manage project pricing, client sales, and produce the materials that showcase our capabilities. In terms of delivery, my focus is on leading the production, managing teams, and overseeing the design to ensure effective and engaging delivery.

Into the Nanoverse

"Into the Nano-verse" was our inaugural Horizon Worlds project created for the Accenture team supporting Meta's Platform and AI org.

It was designed to test the new joiners on the team’s culture, and encourage teamwork through a collaborative mission in a virtual city. In the end, successful players are rewarded with access to ‘The Hall of Legends,’ an exclusive lounge where they can explore a trophy hall, inscribe their names onto an exclusive leaderboard, and enjoy VR golf with a privileged view.

Small World, Big Journey

In "Small World, Big Journey," we turned the holiday tradition of card sending on its head, creating a VR journey for Meta employees that underscored Accenture’s commitment to sustainability through three interactive worlds.

At the end of the experience players contribute to the environment both virtually and physically; by planting a tree in the game, they trigger the donation of a real tree through One Tree Planted, amounting to over a hundred trees donated so far.

    • A holistic design approach was essential. Toughtfully accounting for all game pillars: story, aesthetics, mechanics, and technology, ensuring cohesion and unification.

    • Striking a harmony between the each pillar of the experiences was paramount: from educational modules, social lounges, collaborative gameplay, to client meeting spaces.

    • Concept art was invaluable. It turned abstract game designs into tangible visions, often directing the project's trajectory.

    • We quickly realized the value of early and often playtesting. Make sure to dedicate proper time to this phase before finalizing aesthetic or feature development.

    • We crafted a workflow that combined strategies from fields as diverse as architecture, game development, and narrative storytelling. This proved to be scalable, setting a standard for world-building and game design projects for the team.

Black Entreprenuership Event

The "Black Entrepreneurship Event" was created duing Juneteenth of 2023, and was about creating connections that matter. This effort was created alongside Accenture’s African American ERG, and brought together our community with other black innovators shaping their industries, engaging participants in a celebration of progress and possibility.

The virtual event struck a chord. It fostered real-time dialogue, brought attention to black-owned businesses and successes, and was praised for its authentic contribution to the conversation on diversity and inclusion.
